By the Window

Day in and day out,

Night in and night out,

I sit looking outside

By the window.

The man outside

Brings the food twice,

The snicker on his face

The vice,

I can’t bear to look at him

Instead, I look at the bird outside

By the window.

Seven years still,

Seven years to go

Im reaping what I did sow.

I live and I die

Thinking about that night.

I loose all my might,

I sit looking outside

By the window.

Let me forget the judgement, the murder, the arrest

Weight of her body on my chest,

Because, I see her in the moon

And hear her screams

In the silence of the night.

I sit looking outside

By the window

Dark, dark

All darkness in my sight.

But it takes away my plight,

It brings in the light,

My window!

I sit looking outside

By the window.

But that’s not the darkness I fear,

It’s the darkness inside.

I killed her

I killed her , I know I did.

My punishment is this dark room

And my atonement is

What gave me this window.

I sit looking outside ;

Its all I can do;

By the window.
